Michael Hyatt on Leadership and Delegation
Michael Hyatt, CEO of Thomas Nelson Publishers wrote an insightful post onWhat the Bible Says About Leadership and Delegation. This is a worthwhile reading and have important principles to follow.
- Admit that working non-stop is unsustainable.
- Understand your unique calling.
- Select qualified leaders to assist you.
- Give these leaders responsibility and authority.
- Only do those things which others cannot do.

I came up with similar principles when I first studied that Bible passage.
What is interesting though is that years ago I also read of some who use this passage as an example of what Moses did wrong which resulted in big problems for Israel etc. Basically arguing that God did not tell him to do this and he was listening to a "pagan" priest using "human wisdom". God's purpose was for a single charismatic leader that all answer to! Go figure! :-( especially with so many scandals of leaders who end up thinking they represent God one earth
Hi Paul,
Thanks for your comment especially for the opposite perspective. I have not thought of it like that before.
