About the main Speaker

Known for his logic and wit, Stuart Briscoe has been preaching since he was just 17 years old. Now, edging close to 80 years young, he shows no sign of slowing down. In fact, he continues teaching the Bible on nearly every continent. Briscoe is credited with transforming Elmbrook from a church of 300 members to one of the largest churches in America. He has written more than 40 books and the media ministry, Telling the Truth, which he founded in 1971, continues to reach out daily around the world. http://www.tellingthetruth.org/

oohhh ... full of envy ;-)

In my early years of seminary, I used to borrow sermon tapes from the small OM tape library (back in the late 80s when OM office was in SS2 and sharing rent with YFC). My favourite tapes were sermons by Stuart Briscoe! (Sadly many were damaged). And coincidentally, the book currently in my car to read when I have to wait is a book co written by Stuart Briscoe.

Off the top of my head he in my top 3 down to earth practical communicators that I enjoy reading / listening to because I always always come away with something helpful - the others being the late Fred Smith Senior and William Willimon. If you ever get the chance, tell him this for me :-)
