The Skin Code Prophecy

Chapter 6
Dr Philip Cheong

The Skin Code Prophecy

This remarkable prophesied skin code is about to be fulfilled. Today’s computer technology and electronic banking system make this prophecy feasible. About two thousand years ago, Apostle John predicted the global implementation of the skin code. Twenty years ago this was not possible. Although the computer was invented in the 1950s, only in the last twenty years that technological advances in the internet, microchip, RFID chip, smart skin and palm vein sensor make the global skin code possible.

Apostle John prophesied:

Revelation 13:16-18 21st Century King James Version (KJ21)

And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand or in their foreheads, that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark or the name of the beast or the number of his name. Here is wisdom: Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man; and his number is six hundred threescore and six.

Characteristics of the skin code (mark of the beast)
1. In the right hand or in the forehead
2. A means to control buying and selling
3. It bears the name or the number of the beast
4. The number is some combinations of six hundred and sixty six

Plus one more important characteristic: allegiance and worship.

THE LAST TRUMPET

THE END IS NEAR – Chapter 5 by Dr Philip Cheong

WHEN WILL THE RAPTURE OCCUR? AT THE LAST TRUMPET CALL

In Matthew 24:31, Jesus said He will send out His angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather His elect (His chosen ones) from the four winds, from one end of the universe to the other. (Amplified Bible) Apostle Paul identified this trumpet as the last one. The rapture will take place at the last trumpet call.

1 Corinthians 15:52 Amplified Bible
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet call. For a trumpet will sound, and the dead in Christ will be raised imperishable (free and immune from decay), and we shall be changed (transformed).

At the sound of the last trumpet Jesus Christ will return to rescue his people at the end of the great tribulation; before the wrath of God is inflicted on this evil and violent world. At that moment, God’s chosen ones will be transformed into imperishable, indestructible and immortal people. What a day that will be!

The Midnight Cry - The End is Near

Dr Philip Cheong is writing a book about the Endtimes. He has graciously allowed me to post it here.
Read Chapter One , Chapter Two, and Chapter Three

THE MIDNIGHT CRY

THE END IS NEAR BUT NOT YET – Chapter 4

6 April 2012

Song - "The Midnight Cry" Recording by: John Starnes

Verse 1

I hear the sound of a mighty rushing wind

And it’s closer now than it’s ever been

I can almost hear the trumpet as Gabriel sounds the call

At the midnight cry when Jesus comes again.

Chorus

When Jesus steps out on a cloud to call his children

The dead in Christ shall rise to meet Him in the air

And then those that remain will be quickly changed

At the midnight cry when Jesus comes again.

Verse 2

As I look around me I see prophecies fulfilling

The signs of the times you know they’re appearing everywhere

I can almost hear the Father as he says "Son, go get my children"

At the midnight cry, when Jesus comes again.

Ending

At the midnight cry when Jesus comes again,

when Jesus comes again

…when Jesus comes again.

 A JEWISH WEDDING

Let me invite you to a Jewish wedding.

A wedding ceremony in Israel today

Matthew 25:1-13 Amplified Bible (AMP)

THEN THE kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish (thoughtless, without forethought) and five were wise (sensible, intelligent, and prudent). For when the foolish took their lamps, they did not take any [extra] oil with them; But the wise took flasks of oil along with them [also] with their lamps. While the bridegroom lingered and was slow in coming, they all began nodding their heads, and they fell asleep.

But at midnight there was a shout, Behold, the bridegroom! Go out to meet him!

Then all those virgins got up and put their own lamps in order. And the foolish said to the wise, Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out. But the wise replied, There will not be enough for us and for you; go instead to the dealers and buy for yourselves.

But while they were going away to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were prepared went in with him to the marriage feast; and the door was shut. Later the other virgins also came and said, Lord, Lord, open [the door] to us! But He replied, I solemnly declare to you, I do not know you [I am not acquainted with you].

Watch therefore [give strict attention and be cautious and active], for you know neither the day nor the hour when the Son of Man will come.

The Subject of the Parable

·       Christ was referring to His second coming (refer to Matthew 24)

·       He comes to reward the faithful servants and punish the unfaithful servants

·       Christ’s return will be delayed

The Simplicity of the Parable

·      The wedding

·      The bridesmaids

·      The bridegroom

·      The warning

THE WEDDING

In the parable, everything was ready for the wedding to start. The bridegroom had prepared a home. He was now coming to take his bride to their new home. The bride and all the bridesmaids would be there waiting for him. He would come at night so that the procession (with torches and singing) through the village could be enjoyed by everyone. Then the wedding party would go to the couple’s house, where the celebration would continue for as long as seven days.

THE BRIDESMAIDS

Bridesmaids are called “virgins” (Gk., parthenos, refers to an unmarried girl who is a virgin) simply because bridesmaids were usually virgins in those days. So, there is nothing significant about bridesmaids being virgins. Jesus wasn’t saying that all ten virgins were moral people; their virginity was not symbolic of their spiritual state.

People married young in Bible times, and the bridesmaids were young girls who were sisters, cousins, or close friends of the bride. It is a joy and a privilege for them to attend the bride and wait in anticipation of the glorious evening when the bridegroom would come.

Ten bridesmaids was a customary number; Jewish people favoured the number ten. For example, it took ten men to constitute a synagogue.

We may interpret that the ten virgins represent Christians who are waiting for the second coming of Jesus Christ.  Outwardly all ten Christians appear to have the same profession of faith in Christ. The inward reality proves otherwise; five are wise but five are foolish. Wisdom and foolishness manifests itself in how prepared you are for Christ’s return.

THE BRIDEGROOM

OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST IS THE BRIDEGROOM WHO IS COMING FOR HIS BRIDE (the Elect or God’s people).

Matthew 25:13 English Standard Version (ESV)

Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour.

Matthew 7:21-23 English Standard Version (ESV)

I Never Knew You

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’  And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’

Conclusion

A parable is a story which illustrates one or more instructive principles. The general principle of interpretation is that each parable illustrates one main principle. So, what is the main message of this parable?

Be prepared in advance for the return of Jesus Christ. You cannot rely on last minute preparation. When the ‘door’ is shut, it is shut, it will not be reopened as in the days of Noah, God shut the door. There is a finality in this.

Make sure you know Jesus personally, but more importantly, make sure Jesus knows you.

Of course, Jesus knows me, you may say. He created me and He knows everything about me. Are you certain Jesus knows you personally? Is there a friendship between you and Jesus?

I am sure everyone in Australia says they know the Queen of England. They have seen her on TV, have seen her in person, have given her a ‘bunch’ of flowers, have even spoken to her. However, do you think the Queen of England knows them personally? Would she recognise them in the street?  It is one thing to say ‘I know the Queen’; it is another thing to say ‘the Queen knows me’. For the Queen to know me I need to either have a relationship or friendship with her.

Similarly, we need to have a relationship or friendship with our Lord Jesus for Him to know me. Our friendship with Jesus is forged through our obedience to Him (John 14:21) and our suffering for Him, the King of Kings, the soon coming Messiah. (Phi 3:8-11).

John 14:21 English Standard Version (ESV)

Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.”

Philippians 3:8-11 English Standard Version (ESV)

Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith  that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead.

Knowing Jesus intellectually is not the same as Jesus knowing you. How is your relationship with Jesus? Do you think He knows you?

Footnote:

What does the ‘oil’ represent?

The oil should probably not be allegorized. Many commentaries frequently give suggestions that take it to refer to such things as good works, faith, grace, or the Holy Spirit, etc.  However, such suggestions are not consistent with the parable because none of these can be purchased. The five foolish virgins managed to purchase the oil at the last minute and yet they were rejected.

We should not attempt to milk more than what the parable offers. Remember, a parable is an illustration with one main message. There are many other parables that Jesus told with different and additional messages. There is no necessity to interpret what the oil represents.

As far as this parable is concerned, let us be satisfied with the one main message that the Lord Jesus intends for us: be prepared for His return.

How to prepare?

How and what to prepare is an issue that we all need to grapple with. The way you prepare depends on whether you believe Jesus will return before the great tribulation or after the great tribulation.

A.  PRE-TRIBULATION

A belief that the ‘rapture’  will occur before the great tribulation. (rapture is derived from the Latin rapio which means to seize or to snatch.  At the rapture, Jesus will come to ‘snatch’ His people from this earth.

Let me consider some Bible verses used to support this belief:

1.     Revelation 4:1-2 English Standard Version (ESV)

After this I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven! And the first voice, which I had heard speaking to me like a trumpet, said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.”  At once I was in the Spirit, and behold, a throne stood in heaven, with one seated on the throne.

Some Bible teachers allegorize that  Apostle John represents the Church and that “come up here” represents the rapture.

This interpretation is not sound. John was in the Spirit; he did not literally go up to heaven. Christian tradition holds that he outlived the remaining apostles and ultimately died of natural causes "in great old age in Ephesus" at the beginning of the second century.

2.     1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 English Standard Version (ESV)

For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.

This is a key reference for the rapture; there is no indication that it will happen before the great tribulation, except that it will happen when the trumpet sounds (it will be a noisy and visible event: a cry of command, the voice of an archangel, sound of the trumpet, definitely not silent and secret).

1 Thessalonians 1:10 English Standard Version (ESV)

and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.

1 Thessalonians 5:9 King James Version (KJV)

For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

The assumption made by some commentaries is that the Church (the Bride of Christ) will not go through the great tribulation; equating the great tribulation with the wrath of God. This is a mistake. The wrath of God is not the same as the great tribulation.  Yes, Christians are not appointed (destined) to wrath. But, Christians will go through the great tribulation. I will support this statement with direct Bible verses as the conclusion of this chapter.

Please note that the great tribulation will be inflicted by Satan.  The book of Job in the Old Testament is evident that Satan was the one who brought calamities on Job. God allowed Satan to do so.

Whereas the wrath of God will be inflicted by God on people who reject God, who do evil and destroy the earth.  Christians will not suffer wrath but will be present in the last three and a half years of the great tribulation, to bear witness to Christ and to stay alive for the rapture. That is why Jesus told us to watch and pray:

Luke 21:36 Amplified Bible (AMP)

Keep awake then and watch at all times [be discreet, attentive, and ready], praying that you may have the full strength and ability and be accounted worthy to escape all these things [taken together] that will take place, and to stand in the presence of the Son of Man.

Luke 21:36 English Standard Version (ESV)

But stay awake at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.”

Luke 21:36 New Living Translation (NLT)

Keep alert at all times. And pray that you might be strong enough to escape these coming horrors and stand before the Son of Man.”

Luke 21:36 The Message (MSG)

So, whatever you do, don't go to sleep at the switch. Pray constantly that you will have the strength and wits to make it through everything that's coming and end up on your feet before the Son of Man."

In the above verse in 4 different translations, Jesus told us to keep awake, watch at all times, be discreet, attentive, ready, and  to pray for strength, ability, and wits to escape the coming horrors. I think you would agree with me that such instructions are superfluous (needless, redundant) IF Christians will not be around to face the great tribulation.

For more than 30 years I believed and taught the doctrine of pre-tribulation. About 10 years ago, as a small part of my Doctor of Ministry degree, I was required to write a paper on the second coming of Jesus Christ. To my surprise I could not find a single verse in the Bible that states directly and clearly that the rapture will take place before the great tribulation. This was after searching through the Bible many times.  I now conclude that the doctrine of pre-tribulation is unbiblical. I challenge you to find one Bible verse (or passage) that states the rapture is before the great tribulation.

Please do not send me quotations and explanations of Bible scholars or teachers. Please do not send me commentaries, books or DVDs to prove pre-tribulation. All I want is one Bible verse (or passage) from you personally, a direct verse or verses stating that the rapture will occur before the great tribulation (with no explanation or interpretation attached, it should be self explanatory). The verse must be able to stand on its own, without human interpretation or explanation.

All I need is one Bible verse, not an article by a Bible scholar, not books, not DVDs.  For your own sake, find one verse for yourself. You cannot hide behind church leaders, Bible teachers, authors, and DVDS. At the midnight cry when Jesus comes again, you cannot give the excuse that you depended on certain preacher, teacher, author, leader or scholar. They cannot help you. It is your personal responsibility.

For such an important doctrine; surely there must be one direct verse (or passage), clear and simple that does not require human interpretation or allegory. For example, for the doctrine of salvation, there are many direct verses that do not require interpretation or explanation. Ephesians 2:8-9 English Standard Version (ESV) For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast., is one such passage. There are many other verses that explain the doctrine of salvation without human interpretation: John 3:16, Rom 5:8, Rom 6:23. These verses are self explanatory.

We should expect the same for the doctrine of the second coming of Jesus Christ. There should be many direct verses that support the doctrine without much explanation or interpretation.

You have to study the Bible for yourself, because your life or even your eternal life depends on the correct doctrine. One and only one doctrine is right. The rapture is either pre-tribulation or post-tribulation.

If you believe in this pre-tribulation doctrine, you will not be prepared when  the ‘mark of the beast’ is enforced during the great tribulation. You cannot buy or sell anything, how are you going to survive until the rapture? You then have two options: to die of hunger or to take the ‘mark’.  Taking the mark will result in horrific consequences:

Revelation 13:16-17 English Standard Version (ESV)

Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to be marked on the right hand or the forehead,  so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name.

Revelation 14:11 English Standard Version (ESV)

And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever, and they have no rest, day or night, these worshipers of the beast and its image, and whoever receives the mark of its name.”

Revelation 16:2 English Standard Version (ESV)

So the first angel went and poured out his bowl on the earth, and harmful and painful sores came upon the people who bore the mark of the beast and worshiped its image.

If your doctrine is right you will be prepared  when Jesus comes again. I believe the Biblical doctrine is:

Post-tribulation rapture.

The rapture will occur after the great tribulation, when Jesus will return to ‘snatch’ us from this earth before the wrath of God is inflicted on the rest of mankind. Let me give you two direct passages from the Bible

Matthew 24:29-31 English Standard Version (ESV)

The Coming of the Son of Man

“Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

This passage is self explanatory. Another passage is:

Mark 13:24-27 King James Version (KJV)

But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.

This passage is self explanatory.

Supporting verses: (with a little explanation)

1 Corinthians 15:51-52 English Standard Version (ESV)

Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,  in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.

At the rapture, the living will be changed and the dead will be raised imperishable; and this will occur at the sound of the last trumpet.

When is the last trumpet? The seventh trumpet mentioned in book of Revelation is the last trumpet. This trumpet will be sounded after the great tribulation. You should search the Bible to confirm this.

Revelation 10:7 English Standard Version (ESV)

but that in the days of the trumpet call to be sounded by the seventh angel, the mystery of God would be fulfilled, just as he announced to his servants the prophets

Revelation 11:15

[ The Seventh Trumpet ] Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he shall reign forever and ever.”

In future chapters I shall give a fuller treatment to the post-tribulation doctrine and how to prepare for the great tribulation.

 Do you love His Appearing?

2 Timothy 4:8 Amplified Bible (AMP)

[As to what remains] henceforth there is laid up for me the [victor's] crown of righteousness [for being right with God and doing right], which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me and recompense me on that [great] day--and not to me only, but also to all those who have loved and yearned for and welcomed His appearing (His return).

May the Holy Spirit guide you to the truth. Pray that you may be counted worthy to be invited to the wedding. Looking forward to be there and to see you there. The wedding may be sooner than we think. Come Lord Jesus!

See you at the wedding,

The End is Near : Chapter Three

Dr Philip Cheong is writing a book about the Endtimes. He has graciously allowed me to post it here.
Read Chapter One and Chapter Two

THE END IS NEAR but NOT YET

‘Prophecy is given not to satisfy our curiosity but to show that God knows the future and that He is in control.’

1 Chronicles 12:32

Of Issachar, men who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do, 200 chiefs, and all their kinsmen under their command.

Pray that all of us would become men and women who have understanding of the times and seasons to know what we ought to do.

Chapter 3

1/03/ 2012

YOU CAN KNOW  THE SEASON BUT NOT THE EXACT DAY OR HOUR

The Lesson of the Fig Tree

Mark 13:28-32 ESV

“From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near.  So also, when you see these things taking place, you know that he is near, at the very gates.  Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.
Jesus clearly said that you can know the season: that summer is near.

However, He did say “No One Knows That Day or Hour”

Mark 13

32 “But concerning that day or that hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

We do not know the exact day or hour but that does not mean we are not informed of the season of His return. We can know the season of the second coming of Jesus Christ.

Disclosure to His bond servants

Revelation 1:1 Amplified Bible (AMP)

[THIS IS] the revelation of Jesus Christ [His unveiling of the divine mysteries]. God gave it to Him to disclose and make known to His bond servants certain things which must shortly and speedily come to pass in their entirety. And He sent and communicated it through His angel (messenger) to His bond servant John,

Here Jesus clearly stated that God will disclose to his bond servants the things that must soon take place. John was one of His bond servants, who was told to communicate to us ‘the future bond servants’ the disclosure of the future events:

Revelation 1:19 King James Version (KJV)

Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;

Disclosure of future events is not meant for everyone; God will only disclose to His bond servants. The book of Revelation can only be understood by God’s bond servants. Do I qualify? Am I a bond servant of Jesus Christ?

As were the days of Noah

Matthew 24:36-39 Amplified Bible (AMP)

But of that [exact] day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

As were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.

For just as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, [men] marrying and [women] being given in marriage, until the [very] day when Noah went into the ark,

And they did not know or understand until the flood came and swept them all away--so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
Noah and family were told of the impending flood but the rest of mankind did not know.

Noah was ‘500 plus’ year old when he was instructed to build the Ark. Noah was 600 years old when the floodwaters were on the earth. He was given enough time to build the Ark and he and his family were told to get into the Ark seven days before the flood came (Genesis 7:10).

As were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. This means that the servants of Jesus Christ will be informed of the season of His return, at least several years before his second coming. The exact date was not given to Noah but he knew the season and he made preparation. He was ready.

How about Jesus coming like a thief in the night?

1 Thessalonians 5:1-11

Now concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need to have anything written to you.  For you yourselves   are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.  But you are not in darkness, brothers, for that day to surprise you like a thief.  For you are all children of light, children of the day. We are not of the night or of the darkness.

Jesus will return like a thief in the night for those living in darkness. Those in darkness will be surprised at the sudden return of Jesus Christ.

However, God’s people will not be surprised because we know the times and the seasons of His second coming. We are children of light, children of the day, NOT of the night or of the darkness.

Detailed account of Jesus second coming

Matthew 24 (ESV)

Jesus Foretells Destruction of the Temple

Jesus left the temple and was going away, when his disciples came to point out to him the buildings of the temple. 2 But he answered them, “You see all these, do you not? Truly, I say to you, there will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down.”

Signs of the End of the Age

3 As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” 4 And Jesus answered them, “See that no one leads you astray. 5 For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will lead many astray. 6 And you will hear of wars and rumours of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are but the beginning of the birth pains.

9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name's sake. 10 And then many will fall away[a] and betray one another and hate one another. 11 And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. 12 And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But the one who endures to the end will be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

The Abomination of Desolation

15“So when you see the abomination of desolation spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand), 16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let the one who is on the housetop not go down to take what is in his house, 18 and let the one who is in the field not turn back to take his cloak. 19 And alas for women who are pregnant and for those who are nursing infants in those days! 20 Pray that your flight may not be in winter or on a Sabbath. 21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be. 22 And if those days had not been cut short, no human being would be saved. But for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short. 23 Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. 24 For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you beforehand. 26 So, if they say to you, ‘Look, he is in the wilderness,’ do not go out. If they say, ‘Look, he is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. 27 For as the lightning comes from the east and shines as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 28 Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather.

The Coming of the Son of Man

29“Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

The Lesson of the Fig Tree

32“From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near. 33 So also, when you see all these things, you know that he is near, at the very gates. 34 Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.

No One Knows That Day and Hour

36“But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only. 37 For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, 39 and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 40 Then two men will be in the field; one will be taken and one left. 41 Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken and one left. 42 Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming. 43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and would not have let his house be broken into. 44 Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

45 “Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his master has set over his household, to give them their food at the proper time? 46 Blessed is that servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes. 47 Truly, I say to you, he will set him over all his possessions. 48 But if that wicked servant says to himself, ‘My master is delayed,’ 49 and begins to beat his fellow servants[d] and eats and drinks with drunkards, 50 the master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not know 51 and will cut him in pieces and put him with the hypocrites. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

1.     Why would Jesus bother to give a detailed sequential account of the events leading up to His second coming if we are not supposed to know the season? He could have replied, “My return will be sudden and at any moment”.

2.     Why would He bother to give them several ‘Signs of the End of the Age’?  He could have said, “I am coming at any moment”.

Instead, from verses 3 to 14, Jesus told his disciples the following:

(1)    Deception - many will be led astray

(2)    Wars and rumours of wars

(3)    But the end is not yet (v 6)

(4)    Nations will rise against nations

(5)    Famines and earthquakes

(6)    Tribulation and death

(7)    Many will fall away

(8)    Lawlessness will be increased

(9)    The love of many will grow cold

(10)    This gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the     whole world

(11)    Then the end will come

Clearly Jesus wants his disciples (and future disciples) to know the sequence of events leading up to the End of the Age.

He described in detail when it was NOT YET, and when the End IS NEAR; his return will not be at any moment. We can know the season but not the exact day or hour.

Jesus then spoke of the great tribulation which up to this time has not happen yet. He said he will return after the great tribulation. The great tribulation has to occur first.

29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days … 30 Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

Jesus Christ will come again after the great tribulation.

We are not experiencing the great tribulation yet, so we can be sure Jesus is not coming today or tomorrow or even at the end of this year (2012). We are entering the season that will quickly lead us to the great tribulation. After that, Jesus will return, however the exact day and hour no one knows.

But, how about Jesus telling his disciples that it was not for them to know the times or seasons as in

Acts 1:6-8?
“It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority…”

Acts 1:6-8 (ESV)

So when they had come together, they asked him, “Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority.  But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Notice that the disciples were concerned with the restoration of the earthly  kingdom to Israel and not with the furtherance of the ‘kingdom of God’. Jesus was concerned with the kingdom of God. He wanted the Jewish disciples to focus on the expansion of His kingdom. He told them specifically to start in Jerusalem and then to the rest of the world. Only Jewish disciples can start in Jerusalem. Jesus knew that his second coming would be far into their future (about 2000 years from the time of the disciples). So, He told them to focus on being witnesses for the kingdom of God and not on the restoration of Israel. That is why He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority..”

Furthermore Jesus had already told them in great length regarding the events leading up to His second coming before His death and resurrection (in Matthew 24).

Daniel had a similar reply from the Lord

Daniel 12

The Time of the End

1 “At that time shall arise Michael, the great prince who has charge of your people. And there shall be a time of trouble, such as never has been since there was a nation till that time. But at that time your people shall be delivered, everyone whose name shall be found written in the book. 2 And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. 3 And those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the sky above;[h] and those who turn many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever. 4 But you, Daniel, shut up the words and seal the book, until the time of the end. Many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.”…..

8 I heard, but I did not understand. Then I said, “O my lord, what shall be the outcome of these things?” 9 He said, “Go your way, Daniel, for the words are shut up and sealed until the time of the end. 10 Many shall purify themselves and make themselves white and be refined, but the wicked shall act wickedly. And none of the wicked shall understand, but those who are wise shall understand.

13 But go your way till the end. And you shall rest and shall stand in your allotted place at the end of the days

In verse 8, Daniel asked,“… what shall be the outcome of these things?”

The Lord replied,” Daniel, for the words are shut up and sealed until the time of the end. … And none of the wicked shall understand, but those who are wise shall understand.” The prophecy given to Daniel about 2500 years ago will be ‘unsealed’ at the time of the end. Daniel was told to ‘rest’ or ‘sleep’ and he will be awakened at the end of days.

The unsealing of the prophecy will occur at the time of the end. None of the wicked shall understand, but those who are wise shall understand. God will give wisdom to his bond servants to understand. “And those who understand will teach many” (Daniel 11:33, The Interlinear Bible).

Two signs preceding the return of Jesus

2 Thessalonians 2:1-4 Amplified Bible (AMP)

BUT RELATIVE to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) and our gathering together to [meet] Him, we beg you, brethren,

Not to allow your minds to be quickly unsettled or disturbed or kept excited or alarmed, whether it be by some [pretended] revelation of [the] Spirit or by word or by letter [alleged to be] from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has [already] arrived and is here.

Let no one deceive or beguile you in any way, for that day will not come except the apostasy comes first [unless the predicted great falling away of those who have professed to be Christians has come], and the man of lawlessness (sin) is revealed, who is the son of doom (of perdition),

Who opposes and exalts himself so proudly and insolently against and over all that is called God or that is worshiped, [even to his actually] taking his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming that he himself is God.

The two signs are:

1.     Apostasy (great falling away)

2.     Appearance of the man of lawlessness

In the season of End Time, there will be a great falling away of those who have professed to be Christians. This is sad but it is what our Lord Jesus has predicted. The condition of spirituality during the End Time season is so bad that our Lord Jesus even asked, “Will I find faith on earth?”

Luke 18:8

I tell you, he will give justice to them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”

Let us remain faithful to our Lord Jesus Christ until the end when He will return and receive us to himself.

Chapter 2

February 2012

The next event on the prophetic horizon is the destruction of Damascus. Watch the news. Jesus Christ is coming again soon.

J
ohn 14:2-3 English Standard Version (ESV)

Jesus said, “In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.”

John 14:29 English Standard Version (ESV)

And now I have told you before it takes place, so that when it does take place you may believe.

We live in tumultuous times, we live in privileged times. We have the privilege of experiencing the fulfilling of many Bible prophecies: the return of Jews to their homeland in May 1948, the signs that Jesus predicted in Matthew 24, the on-going formation of one world government, the great economic disparity, the symbolic Four horses of Revelation, the internet and the technology that make the implementation of the ‘mark’ feasible, the soon coming Middle East war, the soon destruction of Damascus. I will expand on the above in future months, God willing. Now we take a look at the prophecy concerning Damascus.

DAMASCUS

Isaiah 17:1 English Standard Version (ESV)

Behold, Damascus will cease to be a city and will become a heap of ruins.

Damascus, the oldest continuous inhabited city in the world.

The city was founded more than 4000 years ago. Damascus is first directly mentioned in the Bible way back in Genesis 14:15 when Abraham defeated the combined forces of a number of kings under Kedorlaomer. Before Abraham had children (Isaac and Ishmael), Eliezer of Damascus, Abraham's chief servant, was to have been his heir (Genesis 15:2).

According to the 1st century Jewish historian Flavius Josephus in his twenty-one volume Antiquities of the Jews, Damascus was founded by Uz, the son of Aram. he stated:

Nicolaus of Damascus, in the fourth book of his History, says thus: "Abraham reigned at Damascus, being a foreigner, who came with an army out of the land above Babylon, called the land of the Chaldeans: but, after a long time, he got him up, and removed from that country also, with his people, and went into the land then called the land of Canaan, but now the land of Judea, and this when his posterity were become a multitude; as to which posterity of his, we relate their history in another work. Now the name of Abraham is even still famous in the country of Damascus; and there is shown a village named from him, The Habitation of Abraham.

King David held Damascus for some time, with a large garrison there (2 Samuel 8:5-6).

Damascus was captured and partially destroyed by the Assyrians under Tiglath-Pileser. The inhabitants were carried captive into Assyria. This fall was a fulfillment of  Amos 1:3-5 and Jeremiah 49:24 prophecy not the prophecy of Isaiah 17:1. Damascus did not cease to be a city, it continued to these days.

Damascus then experienced a long era of foreign rulers - Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans. It remained under Roman control through the New Testament period.

The city is perhaps best known in the New Testament for Saul's conversion on the road to Damascus (Acts 9:1-25) after the martyrdom of Stephen. That event created one of the most prominent Christians in all history - Paul. Ananias of Damascus also played a key role in Paul’s life.

Acts 9:10-12 English Standard Version (ESV)

Now there was a disciple at Damascus named Ananias. The Lord said to him in a vision, “Ananias.” And he said, “Here I am, Lord.”  And the Lord said to him, “Rise and go to the street called Straight, and at the house of Judas look for a man of Tarsus named Saul, for behold, he is praying, and he has seen in a vision a man named Ananias come in and lay his hands on him so that he might regain his sight.”

Paul became a significant figure in the first organized Christian Church at Antioch in ancient Syria, from which he left on many of his missionary journeys.

Modern History

Ottoman Syria was turned into an Arab Kingdom of Syria in 1920. Syria came under French Mandate in 1941, gaining independence in 1946, entering the Arab-Israeli War in 1948, and remaining in a state of political instability during the 1950s and 1960s.

In a coup of 1970, Hafez al-Assad and his Baath Party took power. Syria was ruled autocratically by Assad during 1970–2000, and after Hafez al-Assad's death in 2000, he was succeeded by his son Bashar al-Assad.

In the context of the Arab Spring of 2011, Bashar al-Assad's regime faces the ongoing 2011 Syrian uprising.

In spite of many conquests, Damascus has not been completely destroyed or ceased to be a city. The Prophecy of Isaiah 17:1  “Behold, Damascus will cease from being a city, and it will be a ruinous heap” has not yet been fulfilled. It will happen very soon. Watch the NEWS!

John 14:29 New Living Translation (NLT)

I have told you these things before they happen so that when they do happen, you will believe.

“Syrian President Bashar Assad on Tuesday (October 4, 2011) threatened to set fire to the Middle East, and especially to Israel, if NATO attacks Syria ,” the Iranian Fars news agency reported.

In meeting with Turkish FM, Syrian president discusses possibility of NATO strike, says “If a crazy measure is taken against Damascus, I won’t need more than six hours to transfer hundreds of rockets to Golan to fire at Tel Aviv.” Syrian President Bashar Assad on Tuesday threatened to set fire to the Middle East, and especially to Israel, if NATO attacks Syria , the Iranian Fars news agency reported.

According to the Fars news agency, the Syrian president stressed that Damascus will also call on Hezbollah in Lebanon to launch a fierce rocket and missile attack on Israel, one that Israeli intelligence could never imagine. “All these events will happen in three hours, but in the next three hours, Iran will attack US warships in the Persian Gulf as American and European interests will be targeted.” ( Assad threatens to attack Tel Aviv in case of NATO strike, Israel News, 10-04-11).

The London-based al-Sharq al-Awsat Arabic-language newspaper reported Tuesday that mass demonstrations had been held in all of Syria’s principal cities Monday, in support of an announcement by the rebel Syrian National Council  (Eerily similar in sound to its Libyan NATO-supported counterpart: Libya National Transitional Council) that it was setting up a shadow government in Istanbul, that would be ready to move into power as soon as Assad fell.

The “decision” has been made – al-Assad must go! USA announced in its news conference today (31/01/2012).  White House spokesman Jay Carney: "Assad's fall is inevitable... The regime has lost control of the country.”

Now begins the embattlement in earnest.

Syria's Assad will go, says US, as UN vote nears.

The White House said President Bashar al-Assad had lost control of Syria, adding "he will go".

Russia has said it will block a UN resolution calling for Mr Assad to hand power to a deputy who would then form a government of national unity.

Moscow said the text - proposed by the Arab League and backed by the US, the UK and France - was "not balanced" and would "leave open the possibility of intervention" in Syria's affairs.

Moscow, which has maintained its ties with Damascus, has so far resisted moves for a UN resolution condemning the violence in Syria. Russia has a naval base in the country and supplies arms to Syria.

"The current Western draft... certainly cannot be supported by us," Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov told the Interfax news agency.

Mr Gatilov said the draft was "not balanced" and "leaves open the possibility of intervention in Syrian affairs".

France says 10 of the 15 countries on the Security Council now support the Arab League text. A minimum of nine council members must lend their backing in order for a resolution to be put to a vote.

However, Russia - as one of the five permanent council members - can veto any proposed resolution.

“Behold, Damascus will cease from being a city, and it will be a ruinous heap”

Russia, China oppose anti-Syria draft

The UNSC logo. The West and Arab League are pushing for an anti-Syria UNSC draft resolution.

Wed Feb 1, 2012 2:46AM

Russia and China have rejected a potential UN Security Council (UNSC) draft resolution against Syria proposed by undemocratic Arab states and backed by Western powers.

The top officials of the Arab League (AL) gathered at the UN headquarters in New York on Tuesday, swaying the world body to force Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to resign and hand over the power to a deputy, who is then supposed to form a national unity government 'with the opposition within two months.'

The United States, the UK, and France have supported the AL plan.
Russia and China, however, have expressed opposition to the draft resolution based on their concerns that it could eventually lead to military action against Syria similar to the NATO attacks on Libya in March 2011.

We await new developments as we look forward to the return of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The End is Near : Chapter One

Dr Philip Cheong is writing a book about the Endtimes. He has graciously allowed me to post it here.

THE END IS NEAR

but NOT YET

The Mayan Calendar will run out on December 21, 2012. Some believe that Planet X will collide with the earth in 2012. Others say a polar shift will take place causing an unknown global catastrophe. Millions actually believe the end of the world will occur in the year 2012. An Internet search for “End of the World 2012 produced 551,000,000 results! But what does the Bible say will happen in 2012?

The world is not going to end in 2012, however the end is near. I will be sending you the result of my study on Bible prophecy occasionally.

Here is the first chapter:

THE END IS NEAR

Chapter 1

If you have not done a substantial Bible study on End Time, it is high time to do so now because the end is near. I have spent the last ten years doing just that; and I am surprised that many of my understanding of the sequence of events leading up to Christ’s second were wrong. By the grace of God and through the teaching of the Holy Spirit, I am willing to change my long held view. I pray and hope that you will be open to the Holy Spirit to lead you to the truth.

Your belief and conviction should be based on the Scripture alone and not on the teachings of your church leaders or books. Let the Bible be the final authority. Is your view on End Time scriptural? Have you really searched the Scripture?

Acts 17:11

English Standard Version (ESV)

Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.

I am sharing with you my view on End Time. This will be through occasional briefings over the next several months or years as we look forward to the return of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Saviour.  Please check the Bible regarding what I share and form your own personal conviction which is required of us.

PURPOSE

New Living Translation (NLT)

I have told you these things before they happen so that when they do happen, you will believe.

John 20:31

English Standard Version (ESV)

… but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.

1 Thessalonians 1:10

New Living Translation (NLT)

And they speak of how you are looking forward to the coming of God’s Son from heavenJesus, whom God raised from the dead. He is the one who has rescued us from the terrors of the coming judgment.

The Events before the End of the world

In Revelation 6, we see the four horsemen of the Apocalypse representing great “end times” events bringing devastation to the earth in four stages.

1.  First Seal: Deceptive Conqueror

I looked up and saw a white horse standing there. Its rider carried a bow, and a crown was placed on his head. He rode out to win many battles and gain the victory.

2. Second Seal: Death through Open Conflict

When the Lamb broke the second seal, I heard the second living being say, “Come!” Then another horse appeared, a red one. Its rider was given a mighty sword and the authority to take peace from the earth. And there was war and slaughter everywhere.

3.  Third Seal: Economic Disparity

When the Lamb broke the third seal, I heard the third living being say, “Come!” I looked up and saw a black horse, and its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand. And I heard a voice from among the four living beings say, “A loaf of wheat bread or three loaves of barley will cost a day’s pay. And don’t waste the olive oil and wine.”

4. Fourth Seal: Widespread Death and Destruction

When the Lamb broke the fourth seal, I heard the fourth living being say, “Come!” I looked up and saw a horse whose colour was pale green. Its rider was named Death, and his companion was the Grave. These two were given authority over one-fourth of the earth, to kill with the sword and famine and disease and wild animals.

There is a sequence of seven seals.

The first four seals identify major world events that will take place before the Great Tribulation. The Great Tribulation is the last 3 ½ years of this age. Fifth and sixth seals will take place during the Great Tribulation. The seventh seal marks the opening of the Book of Life in preparation for Christ's return and gathering of His Elect, the Church.

The breaking of the first four seals correspond to “the beginning of birth pains” which will start the final generation leading to His Second Coming and His Kingdom on earth. Christ said,

“Ethnic group will rise against ethnic group, and government against government. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains” (Matthew 24:7-8).

These first four seals give early warning signs. They reveal to God's people that the "Time of the End" has come and alert them to what will soon take place so they will be prepared.

1.WHITE HORSE

 DECEPTION
(First Seal: Deceptive Conqueror)

Deception permeates all areas; in politics and governments, military, Wall Street, Main street and religions. Under the pretext of freedom and democracy, regimes were changed by undemocratic means and robbed of their wealth (Oil and gas, other resources); in the name of God, ungodly atrocities are committed; in the guise of humanitarian concern for the civilians, inhumane acts are committed; bombs and missiles are employed to kill civilians.

Jesus revealed to Apostle John about two thousand years ago in Revelation 6:2, symbolically:

‘And I looked, and behold, a white horse! And its rider had a bow, and a crown was given to him, and he came out conquering, and to conquer.’ (A horse represents a spirit or a global event, the colour white signifies purity and righteousness; so, we have a rider under the guise of pure and righteous intention, conquering nations and thus deceiving many).

What is unfolding in Syria is an armed insurrection supported covertly by foreign powers. Armed insurgents belonging to Islamist organizations have crossed the border from Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan.

The objective is to destabilize the Syrian State and implement "regime change" through the covert support of an armed insurgency, integrated by Islamist militia. The reports on civilian deaths are used to provide a pretext and a justification for humanitarian intervention under the principle "Responsibility to Protect".

2.RED HORSE

DEATH
(Second Seal: Illegal Wars)

Another horse, fiery red, went out. And it was granted to the one who sat on it to take peace from the earth, and that people should kill one another; and there was given to him a great sword.”

This vision corresponds with Christ's prophecy of the end time recorded in Matthew 24: "And you will hear of wars and rumours of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom" (verses 6-7).

Approximately 180 million men, women and children were slaughtered in 20th-century wars. The new millennium has continued the trend, with the addition of mass-murder terrorism. We are beginning to witness ‘blatant aggression’ against nations.

3.BLACK HORSE

DISPARITY (Third Seal: Economic Inequality)

Economic disparity and inequality are widespread all over the world. Occupy Wall Street movement (We are the 99%), austerity measures by many nations and the so-called Arab Spring (Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt, Yemen, etc.) are evidence of inequality in wealth distribution. Middle class is disappearing and the gap between the rich and the poor is widening.

ECONOMIC INEQUALITY

 PROTESTS: ECONOMIC INEQUALITY IN USA

LONDON PROTEST Austerity cuts ignited Britain unrest

FOOD CRISIS: RIOTS WILL OCCUR SOON

About two thousand years ago Jesus predicted the economic situation we are experiencing today.

Revelation 6:6 "A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius, and do not harm the oil and wine!"

(Easy-to-Read Version)

It said, “A quart of wheat or three quarts of barley will cost a full day’s pay. But don’t harm the supply of olive oil and wine!”

The Expositor's Bible Commentary explains regarding this passage: "This amount [of money] suggests food prices about twelve times higher than normal ... and implies inflation and famine conditions (Matt 24:7). A quart of wheat would supply an average person one day's sustenance. Barley was used by the poor to mix with the wheat." Food shortages cause inflation in food prices. And higher prices make the remaining food harder to afford.

Oil and wine, though, are typically symbols of plenty. The reference here could indicate there will be pockets of abundance in the midst of famine. Christ's reference to famine "in various places" (Matthew 24:7) indicates the same possibility.

For the poor, the basic necessities will cost a full day’s pay; the rich will continue to indulge in luxuries (oil and wine).

In any case, the opening of the third seal indicates the onset of a period of severe famine unlike any in the past. While famines of varying severity have struck throughout history, it appears things will get much worse.

FINANCIAL CRISIS: USA AND EUROZONE

4.PALE GREEN HORSE

DEVASTATION
(Fourth Seal: Widespread Death and Destruction)

Revelation 6:7-8 tells us this about the fourth seal: "When He opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, 'Come and see.' So I looked, and behold, a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was Death, and Hades followed with him."

The Expositor's Bible Commentary says this about the colour of the fourth horse: "'Pale' (chloros) denotes a yellowish green, the light green of a plant, or the paleness of a sick person in contrast to a healthy appearance." Put bluntly, this horse is the colour of death.

In Jesus' parallel prophecy in Matthew 24, He explained that in the wake of religious deception, war and famine would come "pestilences" or disease epidemics (verse 7).

The seals have a cumulative effect. False religion causes instability within relationships leading to war. Famine follows war, and when malnourishment occurs and social systems break down, human beings are more susceptible to disease. These seals depict the ferocity of problems unleashed on the world in the lead-up to "the Day of the Lord."

By the time the fourth horseman completes his ride, a fourth of earth's inhabitants will experience incredible devastation. The death toll will be unlike any from plague and disease in human history.

Satan’s Purpose

John 10:10

New Living Translation (NLT)

The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy.

Destruction and death are forecast to increase; unending wars, extreme man-made climate change and disasters (famines, droughts, floods, nuclear meltdowns, tsunamis, diseases, blizzards and hailstones and earthquakes).

Jesus told us in advance:

There will be great earthquakes, and there will be famines and plagues in many lands, and there will be terrifying things and great miraculous signs from heaven.

And here on earth the nations will be in turmoil, perplexed by the roaring seas and strange tides. People will be terrified at what they see coming upon the earth, for the powers in the heavens will be shaken.

The above four events will increase in intensity and regularity as the end of the world approaches.
