James Houston is one of my favourite teacher, writer and mentor. Now that he has retired from Regent, I hope he will spend more time writing to transfer on his knowledge and wisdom.
(2006) Downers Grove, IL: InterVarsity Press.
James Houston presents in six essays insight into the Christian life. Offered as a legacy to pass onto the next generation, Houston explores the tensions and challenges inherent in the Christian truth.
In my opinion, Eugene Peterson taught and wrote more about spiritual formation that Dallas Willard. However, it never ceases to amaze me that spiritual formation is more associated with Dallas Willard. This is the third volume of a 5 volume set in which he plans to publish his thoughts on the Christian spiritual life. The other published volumes are Christ Plays in Ten Thousand Places and Eat This Book which are also great reads.
(2007) Grand Rapids, MI: William B. Eerdmans Publishing Company
