Is there a place, Alex, for a person who experiences and appropriates and discerns the redeeming action of the gospel in his own soul.
Hi blogpastor,
of course there is. Part of the process of growing in Christ is to be sensitive to the working of the Holy Spirit. This is the work of the individual. This is our part in sanctification (please note that this is not work righteousness). What I am trying to say is that sometimes, we need an objective view. Someone who is not closely involved as we are, to help us discerned. Ultimately, the final decision is ours. The spiritual directors should never insist. They only suggests.
