may i know how long does it takes to be a general doctor which does not do surgeries ?
hi student,
All students aspiring to be doctors have to undergo medical school training which will last 5-6 years depending on the university conferring the medical degree.
After graduation, the new doctor will have to undergo 1-2 years of 'housemanship' depending on which country he or she is serving in.
After completing the housemanship, one could be considered to be a general doctor. General doctors normally do not do surgeries.
It will need to further training as a specialist to be a surgeon who does surgeries.
